Charity stores in Victoria continue to suffer from increased amounts of illegal dumping. Some stores actively working to decrease dumping before the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions have used this preparedness with great success. More here

New South Wales Environment Protection Authority recorded a 34% increase in incidents of illegal dumping in April 2020, compared to April 2019. More here

More compliance officers in Queensland after success from patrolling and community reports

The Queensland government expanded the Illegal Dumping Partnership program to get more compliance officers on the ground, and increased funding to the Illegal Dumping Hotspot Grants Program.

Success from increased patrolling and a focus on community based reporting led to the state government providing funds to continue employing two dedicated illegal dumping officers until March 2021. More here
